Contacting Your Driver:

The most efficient way to recover a lost item with Drive-In Rent A Car is to directly contact your assigned driver. Follow these steps:

  1. Use the Drive-In Rent A Car App:

    • Report your lost item through the Drive-In Rent A Car app.
    • Look for the option to call or send a message to your driver.
    • Note that the app uses a masked phone number to protect your personal contact information.
  2. Time Window:

    • Contact options are available for 24 hours after your ride concludes.
    • Provide the best contact number in your message to facilitate a smoother return process.


Lost Phones

If you've lost the phone associated with your account or are unable to contact your driver:


  1. Contact Drive-In Rent A Car Support:

    • Reach out to Drive-In Rent A Car support for assistance.
    • Provide an alternate contact number for the driver to reach you.
  2. Insurance Claim:

    • Take necessary actions to fulfill your insurance claim requirements, if applicable.

    • Return Fee

      As a consideration for the driver's time, riders are subject to a return fee of INR 500 for the return of a lost item. Key details:

    1. Payment:

      • You will only be charged once the driver successfully returns your item.
      • The entire fee goes to the driver.

    2. Tips:

      • Tips (in-app or cash) do not count toward the return fee.
      • Consider expressing gratitude with an extra tip for your driver.

    3. Drivein Premium Members:

      • Lost and found fees are waived for Drive-In Rent A Car's premium members.


    Additional Options

    Drive-In Rent A Car acknowledges limitations but offers additional options:

    1. Police Report:

      • If items with sensitive information are lost, consider filing a police report.
      • Drive-In Rent A Car will cooperate with local authorities upon proper paperwork submission.
    2. Disclaimer:

      • Drive-In Rent A Car does not provide insurance, replacements, or reimbursement for lost items.
      • Per the Terms of Service, the company is not responsible for personal belongings left in the car.
